While we support white uniforms by carrying all the necessary patches for Sea Scouting on white backgrounds, we don't deal in whites for two reasons. First of all, we don't have the room. Secondly, whites are available at reasonable prices (unlike blues) through the Reserve Clothing System in Virginia. Here's how it works:
Call 1 (800) 368-4088 (the Navy Uniform Support Center.) The first time you call, you need to ask to speak to the Customer Services Supervisor so you can identify yourself as a Sea Scout leader and find out directly from the top what you need to do to place an order.
The only thing you want the first time you call is a catalog and a price list. You need both of these so you'll know for sure what it is you are ordering - NEVER TRY TO ORDER WITHOUT THEM! They will mail them to you and when you get them, THEN and then only call them back and place your order. Yes, they take plastic. They will then ship you your goods.
Sizes are, of course, no problem with them but like us, you have to remember that their uniforms are cut for people who can meet the physical requirements for enlistment.
We don't mind telling you all this because you'll find that we are a whole lot less expensive than they are on anything that we both carry. If you need new whites though, they are the way to go.
